Iranian film ‘Cham’ awarded at Mainstream & Underground

Iranian short film ‘Cham’ has been awarded at the European Film Festival “Mainstream & Underground” in Russia.

The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported that the film, written and directed by Abbas Shakibmehr, won the Best Cinematography in the Russian event.

“Nothing might have been waiting for him. But, walking revealed light in his eyes,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The European Film Festival Mainstream & Underground is “one of the few festivals in the world that have a multicultural mission”, the festival’s website reads.

The event is “a meeting of Europe and Asia, mainstream and underground”, it adds.

The festival screens films by filmmakers from around the world.
